Meet the Founder
Victoria Nwasike, JD, MPP
PRESIDENT AND CEO
Victoria Nwasike is President and CEO of Goldencrest Global, LLC, a company she founded in 2015, and has extensive Economic Development and International Business Development experience. She specializes in the areas of general and international business expansion and economic development.
Previously, while working as the Manager of International Business Development for the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), she was responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to attract foreign companies to invest in Iowa, and assisted international companies with site selection, financial incentives, tax credits, workforce development, and resolving barriers to establishing a new U.S. location.
Victoria’s responsibilities also included overseeing and managing international investment initiatives for IEDA’s foreign offices within Europe, Asia, and Mexico. Victoria also directed former Iowa Governor Terry E. Branstad’s (recently U.S. Ambassador to China) International Trade and Investment Missions to Asia (India, South Korea, Japan), including handling fundraising, marketing, recruiting delegates, developing itineraries/meetings, and overseeing logistical support.
Prior to heading IEDA’s international business recruitment initiatives, Victoria was the Marketing Manager for the Asia/Pacific region in the IEDA International Trade Office, providing educational and technical export assistance to companies through individual consultation; in-house training and educational seminars; organizing in-bound international buyer groups; identifying trade barriers; and assisting with international market research while providing companies with foreign market access strategies.
Victoria travelled internationally giving presentations and meeting with companies around the world, including: Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Copenhagen, Denmark; Munich, Germany; Frankfurt, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; Singapore; Bangkok, Thailand; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Taipei, Taiwan; Paris, France; New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai, India; Shanghai & Beijing, China.
Additional international experience includes an appointment by Iowa Governor Terry E. Branstad as the Public Sector Director for the U.S. Midwest – Japan Association which works to increase trade and investment opportunities between the Midwest and Japan. She was also nominated by Iowa Governor Branstad and participated in the European Union Visitors Program where she was a U.S. delegate in Brussels, Belgium focusing on international trade/investment and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations.
Furthermore, Victoria served as an Adjunct Professor for Drake University Law School teaching Conflict of Laws (Private International Law) and an Adjunct Professor for the College of Business and Public Administration at Drake University, teaching International Law. Prior to working in state government, Victoria Nwasike practiced with the Davis Brown law firm in Des Moines, IA, now Dentons Davis Brown, recognized by Martindale-Hubbell and Fortune Magazine as one of the “Top Ranked Law Firms” in the United States, in the firm’s Litigation and International Law divisions for three years.
Victoria earned a Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School where she graduated with High Honors in 2008. She also obtained a Master’s degree in Public Policy from George Mason University in 2005 where she studied abroad at the University of Oxford, England, completing the Global Strategy, Institutional Development & Political Economy Seminar Series Certificate. Victoria completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida in 2000.
